Something you may or may not know about our family is that we are not travelers. A long trip for us would be right at four hours. We just don’t do well with road trips. So when we actually do get out, we get comments and texts from friends appalled that we’re actually going beyond the confines of “close to home”! 😉
When I received Christy’s inquiry asking if I would be able to do a shoot for her extended family in Rock Hill, SC, the timing happened to be perfect. Our family was doing the out-of-the-ordinary for us, and we were traveling up to North Carolina that very next week for a short getaway. Rock Hill happened to be directly in our path. The timing was amazing!
Christy is my Mom’s cousin, and she was so kind to host our very large family for lunch in her home before the shoot. She wasn’t intimidated by a big group invading their dinning room and feasting on her absolutely incredible chicken salad and croissants along with mouth watering quinoa salad. She spoiled us completely!
I had never met any of Christy’s extended family, and they were all so kind and wonderful to work with. We had four very energetic nieces and nephews, and they were so precious playing and interacting together. The location was beautiful, and we ended up scheduling this session at 4:00 in the afternoon so we could squeeze in the shoot before my family headed home. It worked out wonderfully!
Thank you so much, Dukes family, for trusting me to capture your memories together! Y’all were a blast.
Joyfully,
Lauren
